John Griffith is a Director at Tideline, where his work focuses on project management and client engagement.
John joined Tideline in 2018 after more than a decade in housing finance and community development, most recently as the National Director for State & Local Policy at Enterprise Community Partners, a national affordable housing intermediary. In that role, John led a team of seven regional policy directors and oversaw all of Enterprise’s state and local advocacy efforts across the country. He also coordinated the High-Cost Cities Housing Forum, a peer-to-peer network of local housing commissioners from the most expensive cities in the US, and authored Enterprise’s long-term policy platform, “An Investment in Opportunity,” which was published in February 2016.
John also served as the Director of the Accelerating Impact Investing Initiative (AI3), a cross-sector coalition working to strengthen and expand the market for impact investments through changes to public policy. His writing has been published in The Atlantic, US News & World Report, American Banker, and The Hill and he has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other national news publications.
Before joining Enterprise, John was an Economic Policy Analyst at the Center for American Progress, a DC-based think tank, and an Analyst with the Social and Economic Policy Division of Abt Associates, a data-driven research and consulting firm.
John holds a master’s degree in public administration from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Villanova University, where he graduated magna cum laude.
