Joohee Rand

Associate Partner

Joohee Rand is an Associate Partner at Tideline with responsibilities for the firm’s client engagements and thought leadership related to impact strategy, management and evaluation. Joohee joined Tideline in 2022, bringing over two decades of experience across global management consulting, health and community philanthropy, and impact investing.

Prior to joining Tideline, Joohee spent over a decade working in the philanthropic sector, bringing collaborative partnerships and strategies for systems change and integrating impact investing as a core practice of the foundations in which she held senior leadership roles. Most recently, Joohee served as the Vice President for Philanthropy and Impact Investing at Anchorum St. Vincent, responsible for developing and executing strategies for grants, impact investing and community leadership initiatives to improve community health outcomes with particular focus on housing and homelessness, behavioral health, and education. Joohee was also the Vice President for Community Investment and Strategy at the Santa Fe Community Foundation where she developed and led the Foundation’s impact investing strategy and program, developed an equity-driven strategic framework, led collective impact initiatives, and oversaw the Foundation’s education and economic opportunities programs.

Prior to transitioning to philanthropy and impact investing, Joohee was an Engagement Manager at the global management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company. She was a member of the Corporate Finance & Strategy and Nonprofit Practices during her time at McKinsey based in San Francisco and Seoul Offices. She advised cross-sector clients ranging from global high tech and financial corporations to multi-billion-dollar national foundations and international health and aid organizations in various strategy, M&A, organization, performance management, marketing, and operations projects.

Joohee has served on various national and regional impact investing and philanthropic boards and advisory/steering committees including with Mission Investors Exchange, Groundworks New Mexico, the New Mexico Impact Investing Collaborative, and the Rainmakers Investment Collaborative.

Joohee holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School, a MPP in International Economic Policy from the KDI School of Public Policy and management in Korea and a BA in General Management from Assumption University in Thailand.
